Our organic apricots have a unique sweet caramel flavour and make an ideal healthy snack as well as being wonderfully versatile in the kitchen. For a fruity change in savoury dishes, why not add to a tagine or casserole, stuff in a loin of pork, or try a delicious pork and apricot terrine. For a twist on the recipe ‘Devils on Horseback’ stuff apricots with cheese (we like blue) and wrap in rindless or streaky bacon. Bake for 8 minutes at 200°C. For those with a sweeter tooth, try an apricot tart, or apricot and blueberry crumble using Natural Selection’s Juice Infused Blueberries.

Our pitted apricots are grown under strict organic conditions near the Turkish city of Malatya, in the shadow of the Anti-Taurus mountains where the mild Mediterranean climate is ideal for a flourishing apricot tree. Bright orange when ripe, the natural golden-brown colour only develops when dried, as the fruit sugars caramelise in the heat of the sun.

Did you know: The apricot is thought to have originated in North Eastern China near the Russian border, from where it was first brought to Europe by the Romans around 70BC. For a long time apricots were considered to be a powerful aphrodisiac!
